Minor happenings #3
I should probably think of a better name for these posts if they're going to become a regular series, hmm... Anyway.
- I'm 31 and have only just now done karaoke for the first time. I don't even sing in front of my husband, who's always belting out the songs stuck in his head. And singing when I'm alone feels like taking up too much space, sometimes. So. Anxiety conquered! Achievement unlocked! I've leveled up! All with
a littlea lot of help from alcohol. - Nearly lost my wedding band at a golf course, of all places. I forgot to leave my rings at home so I could wear my golfing glove comfortably, so I put them in a bag pocket that I didn't think I'd use... till I used it, once, after a friend insisted I grab a new ball to redo a shot. Luckily, I was able to put two and two together, then find it by pinpointing the exact hole and location the ring would've been jostled out of the bag pocket. I wish my memory cooperated with me more often!
- Shout-out to that special brand of anxiety that pets cause when you're convinced there's something wrong when there's really not. My mother-in-law's beagle wandered off into the woods for 2 hours just to stand and sniff in the same exact group of bushes while the entire neighborhood looked for her and passed by her several times over because she's 95% deaf and couldn't hear them all calling for her. It was nice that so many people helped, though.
- We've had one of the neighborhood's outdoor cats come and sit by our front door every night. What does he want? Who knows, since he runs whenever we get too close.
