Under the hood

I love being surprised by the creatures that visit or live in our yard.

We got our AC serviced last week, and the worker found this nest of empty shelled peanuts, black oil sunflower seeds, dead grass, and other goodies under a flap inside. Somebirdie must have been real cozy during winter.

I'm immensely amused about this, despite the fact that we've been at real risk of a fire for however long it's been there. I genuinely can't remember the last time I put out shelled peanuts, so. Hm.
